Spiritual Assessment on the web is a resource for chaplains, hospitals, clinics and churches interested in using religious faith and spirituality to maintain health, prevent disease and treat illness. It seeks to promote research that studies the relationship between religion, religious values and practices, and healthcare outcomes. Its goal is to expand the dialogue between physicians, nurses, behavioral scientists, chaplains, pastoral counselors and religious leaders in an effort to collaborate and gain greater understanding of physical, mental and spiritual health, and their interdependence on one another. Its software supports database management and warehousing programs for the purpose of gathering information to measure clinical care outcomes.

MISSION: The author of this website seeks to provide a spiritual assessment instrument that demonstrates the value religious faith and practice have for the health and well-being of the human community, and to make this resource available to individuals, educators, counselors and other healthcare professionals.
